BACCARAT HOUSE MOSCOW
The address
After Paris in 2003, Baccarat opens its second House in February 2008 in Moscow, in a place full of history: 19-21 Nikolskaya street.
Baccarat and Russia is first and foremost the story of an elite special relationship between the crystal factory and the Tsars. Masterpieces from its historical collections, including the Tsar’s candelabra - one of the two reverently conserved by the company - and the sumptuous Tsar’s service made of double wall cobalt blue crystal - are on display in Baccarat’s Paris museum.
Philippe Starck to whom crystal is a source of masterly inspiration has been given carte blanche to create Baccarat’s new House. He immediately saw how to give rise, in a place already laden with memories, to the sense of illusion which the famous luxury brand evokes.
On the ground floor, the complete Baccarat collections, from lighting pieces to watches, are on display in a lustrous setting.
Philippe Starck once again accented the contrast on the Baccarat-designed sophisticated furniture: imposing mirror and crystal display windows, and a giant lit table with a crystal base, accommodating the entire range of the Home Decoration collections. The collection of lighting pieces is placed into perspective.
Located in the heart of this magnificent mansion, on the second floor, the Cristal Room Baccarat is a true living space. Philippe Starck has preserved its original chic and elegance, while lending it the required touch of modernity and daring.
