Moved by the experience in Hautvillers and by Dom Pérignon’s centuries of history and savoir-faire, Mathias Kiss set out to bring the moment to light with a sculpture capturing emotions in physical form, much like a vintage expresses the essence of a year in a liquid. Only one material could rise to the level of his vision, transforming the sculpture into something truly sublime: crystal.

The architecture Mathias Kiss imagined is transformed by the crystal’s subtle games of light and transparency, rendering the invisible visible. The cathedral-like structure stands gracefully like the abbey as the years leave their mark on the eroded stone. It evokes an organic process, like ice melting back into its liquid form, a gentle return to its original state. Enclosed within and anchored to its base, the jeroboam of Dom Pérignon Vintage 2012 is seemingly immortalized, the relic of a precious moment.
