A long-time apprentice of Auguste Rodin and Camille Claudel, Pompon renewed the art of animal sculptors in the early XX century with his minimalist style. He simplified shapes and smoothed surfaces to remove all frills. “It is the movement that determines the form”. Inspired by the animals he observed in the countryside, the rabbit is captured in full swing. In the Baccarat version, the sculpture crossed by light offers a real demonstration of the know-how of the craftsmen of the manufacture. A dazzling gift to celebrate Chinese New Year in 2023.
