Presented at the Universal Exhibitions of 1867 and again in 1878, this ceremonial piece asserts Baccarat’s technical mastery and aesthetic vision early on. Its annular silhouette draws inspiration from the antique heritage, evoking Greco-Roman ceramics, here reinterpreted in the purity of crystal. In 1909, at the International Exhibition of Eastern France in Nancy, a version crowned with a stopper appeared, extending the verticality of the whole to a height of 45,4 cm.
