Emmanuelle Luciani, an artist, art historian, and curator, offers an unexpected interpretation of Baccarat’s identity by approaching crystal as a total art experience through the work Crystal Crypt. Craftsmanship, light, image, and sound merge to project the heritage of the manufacture into an aesthetic shaped by the imagination of science fiction.

“I looked at this Manufacture as a temporal bubble, a vessel-cathedral of unique craftsmanship inhabited by dancer-artisans. From this was born Crystal Crypt, a total artwork, like a sciencefiction short story blending movement, film, scenography and sound. The crystallization of an alternate time.”

Conceived as a galactic cathedral, the space pays tribute to the craftsmanship of Baccarat’s artisans, passed down and reinvented across generations. In resonance with the short story The Crystal Crypt by Philip K. Dick, the material becomes a threshold between reality and fiction, past and future. Within this time capsule, crystal reveals the invisible: it moves across eras and transforms light into substance.
